Norma Appleton
Artist Norma Appleton attended art classes at Portland State University at Portland, Oregon and Western Washington University at Bellingham, Washington receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Art History and Printmaking. Over the years I have created a variety of original paintings and prints plus designs and I also create custom jewelry.
Painting subjects include birds, wildlife, landscapes, creative designs and cartooning. Also designing and creating custom jewelry in a variety of media.
Norma Appleton has been the business owner and manager of Williamson Illustrations Art & Framing since 1990. The framing studio is located in Ferndale, Washington; plus Norma Appleton Jewelry & Design; creating and marketing custom jewelry.
Planning and managing professional exhibitions of her original paintings and prints including her husband- artist James R. Williamson’s original artwork and limited editions; Marketing framing plus framed and unframed artwork to galleries, gift shops, business and private clients.
Norma Appleton is a member of The Whatcom Art Guild of Whatcom County and current exhibiting artist at The Whatcom Art Market Gallery located in Fairhaven, Washington.
Selected exhibitions include the 1990 Partners Art Exhibition – Bellingham, Washington & Nakhodka, Russia Sister Cities Exhibit. An exhibition of art by married couples of the United States and Russia; exhibited at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art, Bellingham, Washington and at Nakhodka, Russia.

Norma Appleton’s motivation for creating various themes include, but are not limited to, requests from clients for specific ideas, designs and subjects. Norma Appleton considers herself as a fine artist with a focus on listening to her customers and collectors. She continues to refine and expand my knowledge of various subjects and on methods of creating original art and jewelry. Painting and drawing media include: watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, colored pencil plus collage and mosaic on paper and canvas. The artist enjoys the positive reaction to her artwork and continues to create images that have value and meaning to private and business collectors.
